Climb to the Cannons - National Trust

This ticket provides access to the Climb to the Cannons event for a National Trust member.

Climb to the Cannons takes you from the harbour village up ancient pilgrim steps to the summit. Discover medieval routes, island legends, historic defences and 18th-century cannons overlooking Mount’s Bay, with stories of pilgrims, giants, sieges and saints brought to life by expert guides along this steep, atmospheric ascent.

Dogs are not permitted on this experience. Click here for full details.

It is free to access the village and the facilities on the island at this time of year. Our boats do not operate at this time of year and access is by foot only on selected dates. Walking to the island is free.

Please note: Ancient, rugged and steep, some parts of the island and castle can be tricky to navigate. Paths around the island are steep, cobbled and uneven with intermittent handrails. There are unguarded edges and steep drops. Sensible footwear is recommended. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to take a wheelchair or pushchair up to the Mount summit. Please see our Accessibility Guide here.
